Lizzie beamed "well isn't that somethin'?" she said cheerfully "Now that we're here, we can get down to business. Talk to the locals, pick up on gossip- that's always a good idea when information is concerned- get supplies...yeah, supplies are probably the most important thing, at this point."
Miriel nodded in agreement "We should make a list of what we need first; it's the most prudent route of action."

"Making sure that we have a place to stay tonight should come first," Anne said. Verge nodded in agreement; he was sick of sleeping on the ground. "Want to head over to a hotel?"

"How about you go, Lizzie?" Miriel said simply "I'll go on and get some of the supplies we need."
The other girl shrugged "either way it works, I guess."
Miriel being, well, Miriel, of course, Lizzie had no way of knowing that she had spotted a book shop in the market, and was highly interested in taking a look without being disturbed. She'd get the supplies, of course, but, her research was just as important! At least, she considered it so.

Verge gave Anne's wing a small tug to get her attention, then gestured at Miriel. "Hm?" Anne turned to him. "Oh... Yeah, I guess you should go with Miriel, help her carry the supplies..."
Lizzie was the LAST person Anne wanted to be alone with, except maybe those two kids she had bumped into, but she couldn't think of any excuse to get out of it. She glanced around for Ed a little bit, and calmed down when she couldn't find him. "Um, okay," she said. "See you two later, then."

Miriel mentally smacked herself, and tried to hide her disappointment at being accompanied. It's not that she didn't care for Verge's presence, it's just that she preferred to be alone when doing heavy research (even though, in reality, she would not have been able to get much done at all, she certainly liked to think that she could). "I'd appreciate the help" she responded, trying to be polite about it all.
Lizzie, meanwhile, noticed Anne's glances. "Are you looking for something?" she asked the fairy, entirely unsure if there was anything to look for in the first place.
The resident ghost, on the other hand, decided to follow the lady with the ghost book instead. Knowledge is power, after all, and the more he knew about the situation, the better.

"Oh, you know, just... getting a feel for the town. We'll be spending a lot of time here," Anne answered, hoping it sounded sincere. She had no idea how she was going to get used to the whole 'ghost could be anywhere' thing. "Wanna get going, Lizzie?"
After Lizzie and Anne were gone, Verge looked around, half-trying to find the nearest grocery store, half-trying to figure out what Anne was looking at. He at least managed the former. He turned back to Miriel and pointed off in the direction of a large group of stores.

"With that look of concern? I doubt it." She replied firmly. "Anne, I hope you know that I've learned how to read people these last several years. I've gotten pretty good at knowing when people lie. Is there something wrong?"
Miriel started walking towards the market, keeping a steady pace, while making sure not to lose Verge in the process. She could get a bit...unobservant, when something else caught her eye. She shivered "some breeze..." she mumbled under her breath.
Ed realized he had gotten too close, and backed off. The less anyone knew, the better.

Anne was ready to punch someone in the face, but she held down her irritation and replied, "I guess I'm just nervous about this whole 'treasure hunter' thing. I've never done anything this bold before, you know?"

Lizzie had a feeling it wasn't the complete truth but, let it go, for now. "Yeah, I get it." She said simply "I haven't really been out of the city much either...honestly, I don't think I'd be here if..." she trailed off, before laughing and shaking her head "I just needed some fresh air, ya know? The city's great but, it gets a bit choking after too long"
