Anne looked towards Lizzie's tent, feeling a bit distressed by the situation. Was she supposed to be the only one who knew about Ed following her around. "Do you want me to tell her?" Anne blurted out. "Tell her that you're still around?"

He shook his head firmly "no, you don't have to do that. Actually, I'd prefer you didn't. For one, she might not believe you...and, it wouldn't really do much anyway- she can't hear me." He sighed "Besides, knowing Lizzie, she'd insist that I needn't worry, and that I should move on but...I can't help but worry, she's family, ya know? I can't rest until I know that my family's gonna be alright."
Unfinished business was often complicated business. However, Ed found that his unfinished business was relatively simple, all things considered. That said, he silently reminded himself that he ought to check up on Francis some time in the near future.

"Well, okay..." Anne said, but she still felt uneasy about the situation. It felt wrong for her to keep a secret like this from Lizzie. She had only known the girl for two days, but she still felt like she was betraying Lizzie's trust somehow.
"So... Is there anything I can help you with, then? Since I'm the only one who can see you, I guess..."

"Thanks" Ed replied, relieved. "And, I guess there's really nothing specific you can "help" with- unless you can figure out a way for ghosts to smoke- but, in all truth, I really appreciate the company. I'm sure you can understand that being dead gets lonely sometimes, especially when you can't really communicate." he thought for a moment "Well, I know that there's a lady in the group who's really into this spirit-y sort of stuff. Last I heard, she's trying to track down some artifact that allows one to see and speak with spirits but, that has a pretty low chance of being accurate, all things considered."
He shook his head "What am I saying...? Like I said before, I just appreciate the company."

OOC: Good night! And good luck with tech week.
BIC: "It's no problem at all," Anne replied, smiling slightly. She looked back at the sky, and noticed with some surprise that the sun was beginning to rise again. "Oh..." She murmured, her exhaustion starting to hit her. "I should probably get back to sleep. It's another whole day of walking tomorrow."
She stopped fluttering her wings and dropped back to the ground. "Nice meeting you, Ed," she said. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow."

Ed smiled in return "My pleasure." He turned towards the sunrise. The camp would probably be getting up soon. Another day, another journey, right? And, he'd do as he had done before- keep an eye out for trouble, and make sure that Lizzie was going to be fine (by which, of course, he meant "not dead")
Meanwhile, Miriel- who had wisely turned in far earlier than usual the night before- drowzily stumbled out of her tent, book in hand. She sat near the center of the camp, and, having far more light than the night before (her lamp was rubbish- absolute rubbish! Had she been magical, she would've used a light spell but, well, you can't always get what you want), and returned to her studies.

Verge had also awakened due to a sliver of sunlight sneaking into the tent. He was conflicted about what to do; Anne was still asleep, and he didn't want to wake her up, but he also didn't think it was wise to go outside and try to interact with near-strangers by himself.
He peeked outside the tent for a moment, only for his worries to deepen. There was only one other person out there, and it was Miriel, who honestly frightened him a little bit. He glanced at Anne, then back outside again, and decided it was time to try and get along by himself. He'd be traveling with these people for a while, so he figured establishing relationships was probably the best thing to do.
He crawled outside the tent and waved hello to Miriel. She seemed so engrossed in her book, Verge wasn't sure if she even noticed him. After a standing still for a few seconds awkwardly, Verge waved again. No luck. Feeling a bit distressed by the situation, he 'accidentally' knocked over a pot, which made a loud clanging sound, hoping to get her attention.

Startled, Miriel immediately looked up from her book (Madame de Courferre's The Capabilities of a Sixth Sense, to be exact- she had been purusing it for purely practical purposes), and, seeing Verge, gave a curt nod of the head.
"Good morning to you too" she said simply.

Verge waved once more now that she was looking, then he moved a bit closer and gestured towards her book. He couldn't read himself, of course, but he was curious to know what it was about since it was keeping her so preoccupied.

Taking a moment to process the gesture, Miriel showed him the cover. "It's a book about spirit mediums and the like. While I have no magical capabilities myself, I have known many who do, and I am fascinated by the idea that some of them might have the power to speak with spirits- which I am rather envious of, to speak truthfully." she said simply. "In fact, the authoress is a famous medium herself! Her discoveries were a great aid to many blanks in history books." Miriel added, her excitement showing clearly.

Verge looked at the book with a bit of concern. He had been pretty sure that ghosts were just stories people made up to scare children, but to see a scholar like Miriel so passionate about the topic was very unsettling to him. He'd have to ask Anne about it later.
To take his mind off the topic, he grabbed a few cans of food and started to fiddle with the can opener Anne had shown him how to use a few days ago. He managed to pop one open after a minute or so of struggling, and poured the contents into a bowl for himself. Then he tipped the can towards Miriel, offering her what was left.
OOC: Too lazy to think of actual food. XD

She glanced at the food and shook her head "I appreciate the offer but, I'm not hungry" she replied before burying her nose in the book again. Really, it was all a very interesting subject And, besides, to think of all she could learn from such a power! The possibilities were near-endless! Of course, she knew that harnessing such a skill was near impossible if one was non-magical- hence why technologies tried to replicate the ability so often (even though they failed just as many times).
Still, she was always yearning to learn more about the world, and the subject was simply another door to a new plane of knowledge! And, as such, she continued on, taking notes on the side, in case they would become useful later.

Verge helped himself to his breakfast, staying close to his tent so Miriel wouldn't think he was just hovering around her. Once he had finished eating, he looked around for something to do. He had been working on his writing workbook the night before, but he was too embarrassed to pull that thing out in front of the others. It was for six year old children just starting school, after all.
With Miriel so involved in her reading, Verge had nothing better to do than to pull out the maps and examine the route they would all be taking. They were headed to a small town on the outskirts of a large city, in the hopes that they could find a place to base their operations. Housing in the town would provide the privacy they needed to plan, but being near the city would be good for transportation. He traced the red lines marking their path absentmindedly, waiting for Anne to wake up so he could start packing their things.

It was about this time that Lizzie strolled out of her tent- still half-asleep but, conscious enough to make an effort to ready herself for the day. Noticing Verge looking over the map, she wandered over and peered over his shoulder.
"I know the town nearby- it's a nice place..." she yawned "It's got a good set of shops ya know; lots of supplies, if we're running short on anything."

Verge turned around with a bit of surprise, but smiled up at Lizzie anyway. He gestured to his and Anne's tent, then put his hands against the side of his head and closed his eyes, signifying that Anne was still asleep.
He glanced around at Miriel, wondering if she'd be any more social now that Lizzie was up as well. Her obsession with research was a bit concerning to him.
