"Oh, you know, we're just... ah-" she practically had to tackle Marcus to get him to stop, "-um, looking around. Oh hey, I think your sister is looking for you!" She exclaimed, pointing excitedly.
"Forget him," Marcus growled, grinding his teeth from the effort of keeping the aura in focus. "He'll slow us down."
"Shut up!" Ella hissed, smacking him in the head.

"Listen, you two, this isn't your problem, it's mine. I don't want any innocents getting involved, you hear me?" Ed said firmly. "You don't need to go looking for the murderer, I've already got a pretty good idea of who it is. The point is, I suggest that you two forget this, and just lay low in the hotel for awhile"

"But we can find him right now!" Marcus protested, wrenching his gaze up from the ground. "Isn't it better to find him right away? And besides, it's not as though you could even stop us." With that he returned to his tracking and began walking away. Ella didn't stop him this time.
"And besides," she added meekly, "I want to make up for almost beating the crap out of you earlier."

"you're what? Fourteen?" Ed said bluntly "I really don't think you'd be able to fight me off but, that's not the important thing. The thing is, you guys shouldn't be chasing after a murderer. I can find him on my own but, I think he's gonna find me fir-" he caught himself "I mean, I'll find him first...yeah, I'll find him first. Just don't get involved; it's too risky" he had recognized a symbol painted on the side of the building. The white rose. God knows that symbol meant trouble for him...

"You wanna bet!?" Ella shouted, but then she quickly regained her composure. "Okay, sure, whatever, but I don't think I can call off Marcus at this point..." Marcus had already traveled two blocks, and he didn't seem to be slowing down. Ella began to slowly go after him, keeping her eyes on Ed. "Listen, if you're really worried then you can follow us, but you should know that we're much more capable than we seem."

"I'll follow, only to make sure you don't get yourself killed" Ed replied, seeing no use in arguing with her. He noticed his look-out around the block, coming most likely to find him. "Take Lizzie home" Ed told him quietly, before running off to catch up with Ella and Marcus. Family first. But, God knows he couldn't leave them alone in the city.

Marcus managed to keep the trail for a while before it began to fade. With one last burst of extreme focus, he narrowed it down to one building. He ran up to it and rested his head against the door, just to be sure. "He's in there," he said, cracking his knuckles because he couldn't help himself. "Got a knife or something?"
"Do I look like I have a knife?" Ella said, then looked at Ed. "Do you have anything good? We'd like to keep this as... non-loose-endy as possible, if you know what I mean." ...Which she supposed he probably didn't.

ooc: last post for the night, er...morning XP sorry but, I am nearly asleep at my keyboard, man XP
bic: Ed fingered the revolver in his pocket "Something, at least" he said, staring at the building. He knew the place alright, a bit too well. The home of the "White Rose" operation. They had wide-spread influence among a good amount of the bootlegging circles, his was one of them. Of course, he just had to take a loan from the wack-job, didn't he? 'course he did. But, he knew it was a bad idea to go in there, and an even worse idea to call the cops. Decisions, decisions... He seemed to be saying that to himself a lot that night. Either way, he could just tell the two that he was going to get the cops, and that they should really get some rest, and then bolt from the place, before the boss found him snooping around. "You two need to get out of here. These are trained killers, and negotiation is very important. I'll talk to them. You just run along. "the Silver Sparrow", remember? Tell 'em the Jack of Hearts sent you. They'll treat you like royalty" he hoped that, perhaps, if he sweet-talked them, the ring would lay off on him for a few more weeks... hopefully...

OOC: Can't blame you there. XD G'night!
BIC: "Trained killers? Heh," Marcus said, looking at Ella for his permission to go in. If the murderer had been the only guy in the building, then it wouldn't have been an issue, but there was no way Marcus could get past a group of trained killers without shifting. She considered the options, then quietly asked Ed, "They're killers? ...How would you feel if there was a way to kill them all? O-or at least incapacitate them?"

Ed shook his head "listen, kid, this is a matter of diplomacy. Even if you could kill them all, or get them out of the way, it'd have serious repercussions on...everyone, really." He paused for a moment "Are you implying that you two think you can take them all on?" he asked.

"No need to imply, we could easily take them out," Marcus said, reluctantly stepping away from the door. "Or if you want we could just get the one that killed your sister's boyfriend."
"There might be some, uh..." Ella tried to think of a word for it. "...Emotional consequences? Everyone around here seems to be pretty mundane, so I don't know how you would react to what we've got under our sleeves. So... If you REALLY want us to, we can, but I mean, we could back off, too..."

"You're just kids, I doubt you've got any serious fire-power" Ed replied, a bit concerned about their misguided gutsiness. He preferred to sneak around during the early years, truthfully. it served him well. Thank God he inherited his mother's common sense!

"Well, we do and we can prove it!" Ella protested before thinking about it. 'Great,' she thought. 'Now he'll want us to.'
"Do you want us to show you?" Marcus asked. "Do you think you can handle it? Because I can pretty much guarantee it's going to be the scariest thing you've ever seen in your life."

Ed smirked. This had to be interesting. "Try me" he said, plain and simple. Whatever these kids had, Ed was sure it couldn't phase him. That's what living in the city does to you, after all. You see just about everything. He'd be more surprised than scared, if it was something different.

"Ah, I hate myself forever," Ella moaned, but she went along with it regardless. She and Marcus walked into the alley next to the building, and made ABSOLUTELY SURE there was no one else around. "So, which one?" Marcus asked, throwing his friend an expectant glance. "Just do the one from earlier. I think it'll drive the point home." Marcus shrugged, then proceeded to shift. Just for fun, he decided to drag out the process a little more than necessary, making sure it was possible to see his body fade into a bright abstract mass, then form the shape of the wolf-like monster he had used before. In a quick flash the shift was over. For added effect, he growled and gave Ed the most menacing look he could muster in that form. "Heeey, don't be mean," Ella scolded, but she couldn't stay mad. He was just too damn huggable. "Good boy," she said, scratching her partner behind the ears. He returned the favor with an affectionate rub of his head against her legs. "Well, there you have it," She said to Ed. "Told you so." encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTtfjSGUXbd7S1vwApnvQRnSYwqXEXGwL62MVbVlkgtTlB2S9dt
