"You really have no idea who I am at all, huh?" Leonard asked, rolling his eyes. "I don't know Mr. White at all, and honestly I'd prefer to keep it that way. But..." He looked Felix up and down once more, then sighed. "Since you're such a pitiful mess, fine. I'll go talk to him." Just for fun, he cracked his knuckles when he said the word 'talk'. "What should I even say to him?"
"I honestly have no idea where he goes. To the depths of hell and back?" Anthony offered, shrugging. "He says he can't tell me until I've gotten the hang of black magic. Scrapper, can you say 'black magic'?"
"Meow," Scrap replied in exasperation.

"Well, um...just tell him the truth. That Heidi is one of the Children of the Valkryies, and that it's her destiny to save the world, and stuff. You could also add not to shoot me..." Felix said weakly. He really was a pitiful mess, wasn't he?
"So he believes in that stuff too?" Heidi said with a sigh, before adding "though, considering the situation I'm currently in, I can't really complain against that..."

"Oh yeah, the Valkryies," Leonard said, nodding. "I have bigger fish to fry than the Valkryies, but hey, I guess I can take a moment to help out here. I mean, the organization asked me to come in for a reason, right? Can't just reap the benefits without doing my part..." His hand had slid from his pocket to the garnet hanging from his neck, turning it over and over as he always did whenever he got lost in his own train of thought. He snapped out of his trance, and, realizing he had just spent a minute thinking out loud to himself, tried to regain his composure. "Fine. I'll go talk to him. But you owe me one." With a final curt nod, he went to the front door of the house and knocked three times.

Thomas put out his cigarette and walked over to the door "If it's a sollicitor, I swear I will..." he grumbled, before opening the door, and saying "Hello, White residence, can I help you?"
Felix, knowing full well that he'd be as good as dead if he was seen, returned to his spot in the bush.

"Hello sir. My name's... Ah, Norman Abernathy. I'm a relative of Anthony, you know him. I was wondering if I could speak to you for a moment about him?" Leonard figured he might as well try to scope out how things were going with Anthony AND get Mr. White in on the whole Valkryies thing.
"Yaaay, we're here!" Anthony said, sprinting across the street so he could be in the park sooner. There weren't many people around, which was weird since it was nearly midday. "Hurry up!" He called back to Heidi. Scrap struggled a bit in his arms, so he let the cat down to roam free.

"Hmph...fine" Thomas said, after taking a good look at the young man. "Take a seat in the living room" he added, before grabbing another cigarette. "You mind?"
Heidi quickly caught up with Anthony "Alright then" she said, carefully looking around, and then taking off her coat, allowing the wings to stretch "let's see what I can do with these..."

"Not at all," Leonard said, sitting down on the couch near the open window. "So, about Anthony... You know that book he's always carrying around? The gray one, seems a little 'lost to the ages'? I'm not sure if you would know, but has he been reading it at all? Like, been able to read straight from it, without having to look words up? Maybe your daughter would know more..."
Anthony took a seat in the grass, excited to see if Heidi could fly. Scrap lied down next to him, watching his owner keenly. 'Face plant, face plant,' he chanted silently.

Thomas took a long drag of smoke "sorry, I've had quite a day; this is the only way to calm myself down. But, anyways, I haven't seen Anthony reading from that book of his, nor have I heard him read from it..." his eyes moved over to Leonard's amulet "now that's an odd accessory...mind explaining a bit?"
Heidi jumped straight up, and let the wings do the rest. She hovered for a moment, and, managed to float a few feet off the ground, before losing her balance from the wind, and tumbling down; not exactly managing the face plant that Scrap wanted but, it was at least a type of somersault.

"Hm? Oh, this? It's... not really anything. Don't really feel like explaining it to you... Considering this conversation we're about to have... Kind of a weakness..." He had begun to turn his amulet over and over in his fingers again, and before he even realized it he had slid into his regular trance and blurted out things he hadn't meant to. "Gah..." he said quietly, trying to snap himself out of it. "Um... Sorry. So, your daughter. Has she said anything to you about Anthony?" He was going to have to bring up the Valkryies sooner or later, and he did not want to be in his absent-minded state when he did.
"Aw, well, at least you flew a little bit," Anthony said encouragingly, crawling over to his somewhat frazzled friend. "Was that any fun?"

"fascinating..." Thomas mumbled, before adding "he's a childhood friend of hers; I believe she treats him like a brother, though I have no idea what he thinks of her. She often tells me that he believes in the supernatural, and how silly that was...and...to tell the truth, I never had the heart to tell her that he was right..."
She stretched "yes, actually" Heidi said with a nod "I went higher this time, though I don't expect to fly forward any time soon...at least, not at the rate I'm going..."

'Well, here goes nothing,' Leonard thought. "Yeah... Speaking of your daughter... She kinda has a destiny to fulfill and such and, before you say anything, hear me out. I know you love her and all, but some people just have a greater to work for. Would you rather live in a world without your daughter or just not live in a world at all? Because, I mean, this is apocalypse business we're talking about here." It was worth a shot.
"Practice makes perfect! That's what my brother always says!" Anthony said, giving his friend a light punch on the shoulder. "Wanna keep at it?"

"Sure, why not?" Heidi said with a laugh, before dusting herself off, and preparing another go.
Thomas was quiet for a moment "Le me tell you something, kid." he began "I know about the valkryies. Trust me, I do...and I know all about this prophecy...and what it means...I had a feeling this would happen...I hoped it wouldn't but, look at us now..." he laughed slightly "there's a member of the organization trying to tell Heidi, she's got her mother's wings, and, strangest of all, I've started smoking again." his smile quickly faded "I'm being selfish, I know but, you've gotta give me some credit here. The last time I dealt with the organization, I lost Bathilda, and Heidi was the only one I had left. Do you really expect me to let her go so easily, even if the fate of the world depends on it?"

"Listen, I'm just the messenger," Leonard replied nonchalantly, as if the man in front of him wasn't on the verge of a melancholy flash-back montage with a string quartet. "I don't even really know everything about this 'prophecy'. I'm just some guy they brought in because they needed a few extra bodies. But trust me when I say this, because I've had experience breaking difficult news to family, it's better to tell them. You gotta let Heidi know what you know and let her decide. It'll be better that way for everyone. 'Kay?"

"Hmph...that one member from before is still lurking around here, isn't he?" Thomas asked, a slight smirk on his face "could you bring him in?"

"Sure, sure," Leonard said. He walked out of the house and back to the bushes where Felix was indeed still lurking. "Hey man, her dad wants to talk to you," he told him. "Want to go yourself or should I drag you in?"
"Be careful," Anthony warned. "No broken necks." It had really only just occurred to him that maybe it was just a little dangerous for Heidi to be practicing flying when she really had no idea how to work wings.
