ooc: This is a completely improvised RP. It will only be on a single thread. It is here where we, like the fauvs of old, will paint wildly with words, to see if we too can gain a masterpiece from pure emotion and color.
But, enough with the fanciness XD all rules for regular RPs apply but, there's one extra: if a character is going to die, only the writer of that character will be allowed to kill them off, kapieche?
I shall go first, just give me a moment to write my intro~

Heidi tossed and turned in bed. For some reason, her back was aching, and she wondered if the cat was laying on her again. She looked at the clock "...only 3 AM? I need sleep..." the seventeen year old grumbled.
Eventually, she managed to sleep. She dreamt she was flying. She'd been having dreams like that for a while now. Heidi had actually read up on some dream interpretations, in order to figure out what it meant. They always said that dreams of flying meant that someone felt free, or something... Of course, she figured that they were just dreams; they didn't have to make sense, right?
Seven AM, Saturday morning. Her back was aching again. She got up to get a drink; why did it feel like there was something on her back? Heidi yawned and looked in the mirror. Her eyes widened "No way..." she said in a shock.
Wings stretched out from her back. Her father walked by the bathroom "You're up early." he said cheerfully "don't mind me, I'm just stepping through for a moment..." he added, walking behind her and grabbing the towels from the basket. He had walked straight through the wings.
She continued to stare into the mirror, shocked. They were real enough to see, but unreal enough for someone to pass through them...it didn't make sense!
"Maybe you ought to go back to bed, you look like you've seen a ghost!" Heidi's father said, walking out.
"...yeah..." she said weakly, the wings lowering on her back, still there, still feeling real. "I need sleep."

3 AM was not a good time to be woken up. Scrap was very displeased. He practically had to leap off of Ms. Heidi's bed to avoid getting crushed by her tossing and turning. Oh well. Her nightmares had gotten worse, and Scrap SUPPOSED he could let it slide. Just once.
7 AM was yet another unfortunate time to be woken up by Ms. Heidi's stirrings. This time also seemed to be excusable since Ms. Heidi was simply getting out of bed. Nevertheless, Scrap was not happy while getting up and dutifully following his owner into the bathroom. Yes, of course he noticed the wings. He had been seeing those wings for days now. He never had quite understood human shenanigans, so he just wrote off the sudden bird anatomy as more human nonsense. Of course, he couldn't resist a good eye roll when Ms. Heidi's father didn't notice the wings. Dumbass human dipshit.
Whatever. New wings aside, Ms Heidi had a cat that wanted attention. With a fierce determination to get an affectionate scratch on the head, Scrap rubbed his head along Ms Heidi's ankle, and shot her an expectant glare.

"Oh, hey, Scrapper" Heidi said affectionately, leaning down and scratching behind his ear. "Think this is a dream? I sure hope so...it's weird...I mean..." the wings shuddered. "this is definitely a dream. I mean, I've been having flying dreams; why can't I have one where I have wings, right?" She picked up the cat, and went back to her room. "Besides, even weirder, they just phase through everything..." Heidi said with a firm nod "Yep. Definitely a dream. Like Dad said, I need sleep." she added, placing the cat down, and crawling back into bed.
A shadow stood behind the tree in the yard "It's begun, hasn't it?" they asked aloud "best be prepared...she has a cat, right? Maybe I can talk to it..." The shadow snuck to the window (feeling rather "icky" about the whole thing, as they didn't really care for acting like a stalker). They gestured for the cat to come outside. "I hope this works..."

Ah, does a cat's work EVER end? With a grumpy buy compliant glance out the window, Scrap waltzed out of the bedroom, into the living, and nimbly jumped out of the open window. Not a single person in the house noticed.
Rather than looking around for the dude in the window, Scrap just stretched out in the grass. Better to let the shadow come to him. Had to make sure everyone knew their place, didn't want the power going into the hands of a stranger... Man, considering power balances was the one thing Scrap was truly passionate about. He couldn't even begin to describe the struggles he faced: Determining whether finishing all of his food would make him seem too dependent, whether two or three affectionate nudges would be the minimum requirement to get a good scratch... It never ended.

The shadow removed his hood when he saw the cat, revealing a rather friendly face, with bright green eyes, and pale hair. "Hello, friend." he said with a smile "I assume you've seen your owner's...new situation, right? The thing is, it's actually really important that I tell her a few things but, I'm not really sure if she'll believe me...or actually listen in the first place. Of course, first of all, I just want to be sure I'm getting all the signs...can you help me?"
Cats were usually pretty helpful. After all, they were pretty in-tune with the mystical elements of the world...good thing he could talk to them!

Scrap scratched his side a few times before answering. "Meow," he stated, then proceeded to stare blankly at the stranger's face. "Ha! Just shittin' you! Anyway, what's in this for me? I mean, I'm a busy cat, I don't have all day to just run your errands for you. Care to spice up the deal a little?"

"Um...but...the fate of the world and all..." he replied, disheartened "And, besides, I've never come by here before! Which reminds me; all the other cats I've talked to seem to like more formal-ish introductions so...I'm Felix...what's your name?" he paused for a moment before quickly adding "I mean, it just makes things easier, you know?"

"Well other cats aren't me!" Scrap exclaimed, straightening his posture in an angry huff. "Fine. Want to win my favor? Make these so-called 'world saving errands' good. I don't want to be some watchcat who just signals stuff. I wanna be friggin' Mission Impossible Cat: Savin' the World One Ball of Yarn at a Time. Know what I mean?"
At that very moment, a boy came walking down the street. In his hands, he held a box with a cake inside. On the cake were the words, 'Happy Birthday Heidi!' written in black frosting. Under the boy's arm was a grimoire, which spoke of an ancient art lost to the generations. This boy was a devout practicer of black magic, and he never went anywhere without his trusty grimoire. Of course, whether black magic was real or not was debatable, but this boy insisted that it was. The boy approached the door to Heidi's house and pounded his fist against the door, shouting, "Up and at 'em, Heidi! Happy birthday!" He was completely oblivious to the deal being struck by the cat and the hooded dude several feet away from him. Then a thought struck him. It wasn't Heidi's birthday today. What a waste of time and effort. Ah well, he was sure she would appreciate the cake anyway. He opened up the box and smudged out 'birth', so it just read 'Happy ===day Heidi!'. "Okay it's not your birthday, but Anthony, your BESTEST friend ever, has a surprise for you anyway!"
"Oh god, that kid," Scrap groaned, glancing at Anthony. "What an ass."

ooc: okay, I love Scrap, I just wanna say that right now XD he reminds me of Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, in all the best ways XDD
bic: Heidi quickly got up and changed. The wings were still there, but she decided to leave that for later. She opened the door "Hey, Anthony!" she said cheerfully, "I hope you know that my birthday's tommorow, actually." she looked down at the cake "Aw...you know you could've just waited, right?" Heidi said, laughing "it doesn't really matter...thanks though..." she then noticed the book under his arm "Ah...the "grimoire" again?"
"He doesn't seem to be much of a threat..." Felix noted, before turning back to Scrap. "Listen; do you know the old legends about Valkryies and stuff? Well, there's this ancient thing, which states, and I quote "when the world is most in danger, the children of the valkryies shall gain the gifts of their ancestors, and take up their positions as guardians of the world"...it's a little longer than that, actually but, you get the point. So, really, I just need you to ensure that we're right in suspecting that old legend to come true. Can you do that for me...please?"

"Hmmmm..." Scrap said slowly, although he had made his decision instantly. The savior of the world's CAT? Did it get any more prestigious than that? "Deal," he said, offering his paw to shake.
"The grimoire ALWAYS!" Anthony said in defense of his hobby. "And who are you to judge? Nice wings. Way to show off. How can you even stand to..." And then a thought struck him. "Wait, what's up with those wings?"

"Well, actually, there are multiple descendants...but, I've been assigned to look through this specific area..." Felix said, taking Scrap's paw and shaking it "but, I'm glad we've managed to make a compromise. I promise, I'll try not to make this too troubling to you."
Heidi nodded "yes, they just- wait." she paused "Oh my God, you can see them too?!" she asked in a panicked, hushed whisper.

"Uh-huh. Do I get a prize?" Anthony asked, reaching out to poke one of the wings. His finger just went right through, to his great disappointment. "Awwwww... I thought they'd be soft..... Anyway what are you doing today?"
Happy with the new deal, Scrap leaped back into the house, making sure to give Felix one last look, just so he'd know Scrap was acknowledging his existence. Good enough. He wandered back through the living room and curled up in the hallway, so he could listen to the pointless conversation Heidi and Anthony were about to have. All of their conversations ultimately ended up being pointless. Anthony's ability to communicate was pretty much pointless.
OOC: And with that, I must go to bed. G'night!

ooc: ditto XD this was fun, let's continue tomorrow n_n g'night n_n~*
bic: "Anthony, I have semi-real wings on my back. I don't think I want to just go out for ice-cream or something. Listen, you have that book of yours, does it say anything about wings out of nowhere? Or, you know, maybe this has something to do with my flying dreams..." she said with a sigh, before shaking her head "I don't know..."

Anthony flipped his book open to the bookmarked page about necromancy and began to leaf through the pages. "Mmhmm, mmhmm, mmhmm... Yeah, no," he said, shrugging. "I'm not gonna leaf through this whole thing standing here." With that, he marched right past Heidi and flopped down onto the couch in her living room. This time he opened the book to the very first page and began to skim through, just looking for pictures of wings. Much of the grimoire was written in some weird archaic language, so he couldn't translate a lot of the words without his runes. ...He couldn't translate a lot of the words WITH his runes either, but that wasn't the point. "So how's life with wings? Any good at flying?" He asked casually, just trying to keep a conversation going.
