Sunny Sunshine Dahlia Daystone ((Those are fairly rough, but they're better than nothing. ANYWAY!)) Without warning, Dahlia slammed her hand down on the table, knocking over the salt and pepper shakers and making Sunny nearly jump out of her chair. "I smell something..." She said quietly. Sunny looked around concernedly, but she couldn't find any sort of scented disturbance in the restaurant. "What do you mean?" She whispered back. "I smell... adventure." And with that, Dahlia shattered the window with a swift kick, and out she went. "Oh! Uh, check please!" Sunny yelled, tossing some money on the table, then she clambered through the broken glass and took off after her manager. - - - - - - After walking around for an hour and not finding any adventure, Sunny stopped following Dahlia and fell into a nearby bench. "Dolly, PLEASE. There's nothing out here." Evening had fallen, bringing a slight chill with it, but Dahlia wasn't about to give up hope. "C'mon, Sunny! There's a spotlight somewhere nearby, and we have to steal it!" "Well, maybe if we wait around, the spotlight will come to us," Sunny replied, spinning around so she was upside-down. She patted the space next to her. "Hm?" Dahlia hesitated for a moment, then joined Sunny on the bench with a huff. "No more than half an hour," she stated.

Janet always hated going after spirits alone. Well, it wasn't so much spirits in general, as it was the vengeful, dangerous, and overall NOT cooperative kind. With those, she always believed that the more fellow Reapers involved, the merrier it was indeed. However, for this case, she was riding solo- not that she really wanted to, it was just that everyone else was busy with one thing or another.
Still, she had handled tricky spirits alone before, this couldn't be any worse, right? Right?
At least, she thought it couldn't be any worse until the spirit dropped the chandelier. "Oh, come ON!" she exclaimed frustratedly "That was a priceless artifact, jackass!" The lone plus in the case was that the old estate was abandoned, so no worries for civilian lives, at the moment.
However, lucky for her, the spirit seemed to have drained himself from the previous stunt. Slowly, she approached. "Alright now, please hear me out..." she said carefully. She breathed a sigh of relief as the spirit finally took a moment to listen, and quickly tensed up again in the realization that she didn't really know what to say.
"Next time" she thought "I'm dragging someone out with me"

Two guys walked past Dahlia and Sunny, casually chatting with each other. "So I heard the mansion down the way is, like, haunted or, like, something," one of them said, and that was all Sunny needed to hear.
"Mansion down the way!" She cheered, running off the way the guys had come with Dahlia in tow. "Let's kick some ghost butt!"
The mansion was only a five minute walk away, thankfully, and it certainly appeared to be haunted. Abandoned, in half ruin, plus it was evening, so that didn't help. The two women walked up to the door, glanced at one another, then Sunny gave it a knock. "Hello? Anyone home?" She called.

The spirit, startled by the sudden interruption, vanished. "SON OF A BITCH!" Janet fumed, kicking a shard of broken chandelier out of the way in anger (obviously not helping the situation- she mentally noted to apologize to the spirit for cussing him out many, many times before). She had been trying to get the spirit to calm down to the point of discussion for the last several hours or so, and was understandably not happy at the knock on the door. Of course, the more important question of the hour was of exactly who was knocking on the door and why they were doing so. "Whaddya want?" she called in response- silently hoping that her previous rage-induced expletive would have scared whoever it was off.

"Sorry to disturb you, Miss, but this is rather important. We are two vagabonds looking for a quick way to become famous, you see. Would you say this mansion is 'haunted', or otherwise inconvenienced?" Sunny asked, taking her polite posture even though the person hadn't even come to answer the door.

She stared blankly towards the door, and marched over "Listen here, lassie, this building is closed for investigations! Kindly leave the premises, or else you might get hurt."

Sunny was rendered speechless by the woman's rude demeanor and just general unfriendliness, so Dahlia covered for her. "Oh yeah, we'll leave the premises all right," she said, sizing the lady up. They could probably take her if they tag-teamed. But that was plan B.
Plan A was to leave the mansion for a moment, then turn right back around and start scaling the side of the building.
Once she was about halfway up the conveniently-thick ivy growing up the wall of the mansion, Dahlia made a leap for a second-floor window. She stumbled a bit, but made it alright enough and managed to open the window smoothly and quietly. She slipped inside, then waited for Sunny to make the jump.
The room they found themselves in was probably supposed to be a bedroom, but it was a complete wreck. Smashed furniture, a layer of dust over everything, cobwebs- it was like a haunted house ride.
"What do we do now?" Sunny asked, keeping near Dahlia.
"Now we find some ghosts to kill."

"you see the strangest people..." Janet mumbled, as she went on to continue her investigation, believing them to be gone. "Alright, let's go over the facts" she said to herself as she carefully tread through the unstable building "American...Civil War era...shoud've consulted Annemarie but, no, apparently I was going to "do fine on my own"...fratricide..." she sighed "oh, what fun." she said flatly as she searched for the spirit again.
ooc: I'm going to clock-out for the night, since I'm getting tired- sorry =w=; in any case, g'night n_n~*

"What is a ghost supposed to look like?" Sunny wondered aloud as she and Dahlia walked down the hallway. "Like a floating sheet or something?"
"If that's true I'll be gravely disappointed," Dahlia said. So far, every room they had entered had turned out to be non-haunted, no matter how ruined and creepy it was.
After wandering around for another five minutes, Sunny was beginning to get disheartened. Ghost-busting was not nearly as fun as the movie had made it out to be. She absentmindedly kicked a small rock across the hall, then felt bad and went to retrieve it.
She crouched down to grab the stone, but then a chill went through her whole body. Suddenly hyper-aware of her surroundings, she slowly stood up and turned around.
She came face-to-face with a stark-white, half-transparent young man, floating upside-down through the ceiling. "Hey there, babe," he greeted, winking at her.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
"...Sunny?" Dahlia poked her head out of a nearby room, just soon enough to catch a glimpse of her partner tearing around the corner in a panic. "Oh great."

ooc: oh my god, this is going to be amazing.
bic:
The spine-chilling scream rang throughout the entire estate. "I should've known better." she grumbled, before racing over to the source of the noise. "Hold it, Casanova!" she declared "You and I have some serious business to settle!" her attention was briefly brought to the other ladies in the room. "Didn't I tell you two to get out of dodge?! Whatever, I guess you're stuck here now."

"Stuck here?" Dahlia repeated, intrigued. The situation had gotten even more spotlight-inducing.
Sunny, who had taken shelter behind Dahlia, spoke up. "And what sort of business do you have to settle with that... that... Uh... Help me out here Dolly."
"Ghost, specter, phantom-"
"Ooh! Flying Phantom! I'm gonna write a song about this." Sunny's fear had apparently worn off, as she was now staring off into space, brainstorming lyrics.
The spirit watched that whole conversation with confusion, then turned to Janet. "Who're these fine ladies?" He asked.

"Gatecrashers, apparently!" she replied with a huff "and, now you cooperate? If I had known, I'd've let some random bystanders in hours ago!"
She would have continued ranting, had it not been for the little voice in her head convincing her to focus on more important matters- namely, the fact that the spirit was cooperating, and the two ladies didn't seem to be causing much trouble. Realizing this, she decided to use it for her advantage.
"I don't know who they are. Why don't they introduce themselves?" Janet added non-chalantly. "Ladies...?"

"I'm Dahlia Daystone, and she's Sunny Sunshine. Like we said before, we're looking for a quick way to become famous," Dahlia said. She glanced at the ghost and sized him up. "Got a vacuum nearby?"
The ghost paused for a moment, trying to find the best innuendo he could make in reply to that, but he decided to let the opportunity slide. "C'mon, baby, don't be like that. I'm sure we could work something out. Can't we just get along?"
"If you were corporeal, I would choke you."

"Great, now that we've got that settled, how about we discuss you joining the choir invisible, Casanova?" Janet said coolly, "You can flirt later." she added sternly.
Some ghosts adapt to the times. Apparently this one had picked up pick-up lines. It wasn't the worst situation, no, but it could have been a whole bet better...or a whole lot worse. For the moment, she decided to count her blessings, and hope that next time she wouldn't have to deal with this sort of thing alone.
