True, true, true...
I'll get back to you on it, we'll put a pin in the conversation.
That's nice c:
If it's any consolation on the quiz thing, I felt kinda bummed today 'cause I didn't do so hot on one of those ten-point quiz things for Film Appreciation ;u; I figure that I misunderstood the question asking for the three basic parts of production (I thought it meant film production
overall, as in pre-production, production, and post-production, but apparently it meant something else), so that was an automatic three points off right there ;u;
So, yeah, if you fail, know that I'm in solidarity *nods*
Cool =D I should get back to playing Trine someday...when I get time...and in the proper mood for it XP
You've achieved getting achievements, so that's something =D!
Well, I can't say much on Dark Souls 2, so I can't really give any wisdom here, aside from taking a different approach and trying to get your cluster into some other, less expensive game, like Hatoful Boyfriend or the like =P
Yay =D!
I should hope it's worth it- I've been having some world stress lately too, so I get ya ;u;
I understand n_n;
Personally, I haven't read all of Hitchhiker's yet, given that I'm working on Discworld now and all...so, yeah, can't offer any wisdom there either XP
As for me, I'm okay, albeit, again, a little frazzled XP
My classes, however, have been going rather well. I had some technical difficulties with the film discussion board (which I later discovered was because I had to start a thread to view the threads- though I can't feel too bad about missing that, despite looking at the page over a dozen times wondering whether or not my classmates had posted anything yet, because when the professor looked at the page, she had no idea either XP) and of course, I'm still a little bummed by that quiz (ten point quizzes are the worst sometimes), but aside from that, everything's going pretty well.
We watched Charlie Chaplin's "Modern Times" today, and it was very enjoyable and interesting!
I think the film is one of the prime examples of "Seinfeld is Unfunny" in our day, especially after hearing one of my classmates talk about how he didn't really find it very funny because he'd seen all those gags before and knew how they'd play out. I was just thinking "Well, of course, but the thing is that this film was one of the first to use those gags at all!". But, of course, humor is subjective...yet, we all got a pretty good laugh out of the "Nose Powder" shenanigans XD
If I may put my own two cents into the film's "funniness" though, I personally felt that knowing how a gag might play out didn't really damage the humor of it for me. I actually kinda felt like I was "in on the joke" so to speak, and that was enjoyable in and of itself, in a way. Either that or I've had that old-time humor engraved onto my soul from growing up watching Golden Age Looney Tunes, Tex Avery, and Tom and Jerry shorts, either way XP
However, I should probably add that my brother mentioned that somebody (he can't remember who exactly, but somebody) once said that watching an old Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin movie is kind of like watching a ballet- even though you know how it'll pan out in the grand scheme of things, it's still very entertaining to see it performed so well. I think that's a pretty goo metaphor *nods*
Anyhow, back to the frazzling- the weather was awful today!
It was all stormy and rainy and humid and just terrible, and it really threw me off XP! What didn't help matters was that I got a little lost on the way home after some power shopping (obviously I made it back alright =P) and that said power shopping, while fun, did cause some retail-related anxiety because dude, make-up is really expensive ;u;
The retail lady was real chill about it though, so that was nice *nods* I also got a bunch of free things and the stuff I bought is good quality that'll last me a good while (with only one item being on the sort of "I didn't necessarily need it, but I kinda forgot about that, yet it's still kind of okay because it can go with different things" category), so I think I'll be fine overall *nods*
I'll say this though- I think I'm a little closer to understanding your stress over buying a Wii U ;u;
All that aside though, the rest of my day went fine. For a "Back to School" gift, my mother got me a fifty dollar itunes gift card, which I promptly used to buy a couple of audio books ("Mogworld", which is great so far, and "The Partly Cloudy Patriot", which I'd already read, but I didn't own a physical copy, so there ya go) and a few songs I'd had my eye on. I still have quite a bit of coin left over though, so I'll see what to use that for when the time comes =P
In other news, on the news today of this being the day that James Sirius Potter would start his first year at Hogwarts *weeps silently in the corner because she remembers when Deathly Hallows came out and James lamenting about having to wait so long to go*
and, as one Tumblr user joked, the day that McGonnagal finally retires after seeing the name "James Sirius Potter" on her roster and calling it a day. This prompted a conversation between my mother and I that eventually turned into a debate on Snape. I, for one, am of the party that says that Harry probably shouldn't've named his eldest son after Snape (or, really, Dumbledore for that matter, but Snape is the biggest point here), given that, yes, Snape saved his life and did some pretty brave things, but he also verbally abused him and generally treated him like dirt for the past six years of his life because his dad was kind of a jackass when they were in school together.
But, you could probably also make the argument that Snape redeemed himself to Harry in the last book or so...yet, still, there were a lot of other influential figures in his life that would've probably been more fitting namesakes *nods*
TL:DR, my mom ended up claiming that she didn't want to talk about it because we "never agree on anything!" to which I was like "Well, that's not true! We both think Aaron Tveit's cute, and Ewan McGregor, and both we like Sherlock!" among some other random points of general, somewhat joking agreement. She is still not convinced =P
Did you hear that they're apparently planning a Borderlands film? Apparently Lionsgate wants to hitch a ride on Mad Max's coat-tails (or, rather, the edges of his leather jacket) and thus Borderlands seemed like a pretty good option in a category that Rotten Tomatoes claimed as the post-apocalyptic (if you stretch that definition) yet not a "girl-friendly YA adaptation" category. They are, however, extremely skeptical due to, well, the track record of every video game movie ever made ever.
Just thought I ought to report that XP
Also, I found this the other day
mysticsongbird.tumblr.com/post/128047053565/the-ice-castle-rest-in-fucking-pieces-mrI assume this is basically how the scene went down, right?
Also, also, I discovered something rather interesting today! It's a band called "BabyMetal" that is, what else, a metal band. However, it's an interesting blend of metal and idol-style music. This should, by all logic, not work, but despite it all the band somehow makes this unorthadox combination sound pretty good
www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK3NMZAUKGwApparently several more traditional Metal bands gave them their blessing as "Metal", and the band themselves are fans of Metallica.
Amazing, the things you stumble upon on the internet XD
and that's about it for me n_n
